Purpose and grant-making policy:
The Trust aims to promote Christian religious education by making grants available for:
Research projects designed to improve practice in the teaching of religious education and of nurturing in the Christian faith
Pump-priming grants to church agencies to enable the development of new programmes of religious education and nurture for adults and young people
Individuals intending to undertake academic and practical studies in theology and religious education leading to work in and for the Church in their own country
The Trust does not give grants for:
INCOME
The Trust has a disposable income of approximately £28,000 per annum and most grants agreed by the trustees are at a modest level. Some of these are “one-off” but sometimes a sum is awarded for a 2 or 3 year period.
APPLICATIONS
Applicants are invited to contact the Clerk to the Governors, St Christopher’s Educational Trust, The National Society, Church House, Great Smith Street, Westminster, London SW1P 3AZ for an application form and, if desired, initial discussion of their request for funding. The Governors meet twice yearly (Spring & Autumn) to consider applications.
The next deadline for applications is 25th of April 2008. This form is also available on www.natsoc.org.uk - use search facilities.

The Trust was established in 1971, following the sale of the premises formerly occupied by St Christopher’s College at Blackheath, in order to continue the College’s educational work in ways appropriate to the needs and structures of the developing Church.
The Trust is closely associated with the work of the National Society and the St Christopher’s College Association.
