Second edition of the National Society guide, available as a Word .doc file.
An online training course, commissioned by the DfES, following the publication of the Bichard Report in June 2004, has been developed by the National College for School Leadership, aimed specifically at headteachers and governors.
The training highlights good practices to be adopted when recruiting and selecting adults to work with children in schools, including advice and guidance to strengthen safeguards against employing unsuitable in schools. You are strongly advised to undertake this training.
