Godly Play: Teachers' accounts

The teachers involved in the National Society's Godly Play Schools Project have recorded some of their thoughts and experiences in response to their time using the method in their schools. You can read their accounts here:

Lynne Carroll, a teacher from Gilbert Colvin Primary School, reports on two Godly Play sessions exploring the stories of The Good Shepherd and Creation, which she held for her Year 4 class with the help of Keith Underhill.

Keith Underhill, a Methodist minister, worked with both Lynne Carroll and Jo Bailey in their schools. He also used Godly Play in Special Schools, and reports on this in his account.

Jo Bailey's account offers a brief reflection on her three-year experience of working with Godly Play in an infant classroom setting in Fairlop Primary School.

Rosemary Privett worked with Sue Geyton to introduce Godly Play into Pembridge CE Primary, a small, rural primary school in Warwickshire. She describes her experiences of using Godly Play in this context, and offers her conclusions.

Nicky Paxton of Foleshill Primary School in Coventry describes using Godly Play in a large public setting, at a special celebration service held in Coventry Cathedral.

David Stainer, headteacher of Foleshill Primary joined the project members and the Trustees of St Christopher's Trust at their final meeting, where he gave a speech in which he commented on how he felt Godly Play had helped to enrich the life of the school.
