If you would like to find out more about Godly Play and the ways in which the method can be used in schools, try one of the following options.
All the schools that took part in the project are willing to share their experiences and advise those interested in Godly Play. Contact details are provided at the end of the teachers' accounts of their involvement in the project. Visits should be negotiated directly with the schools.
A model Godly Play classroom has been created at Trumpington in Cambridge. You can visit the classroom, and you can see photographs of the room and the materials on the web site www.godlyplay.org.uk.
One day taster sessions, focused on using the Godly Play method in schools, are increasingly being offered by Diocesan education teams. These are usually open to all schools in the area. Contact your diocese to see if they are offering a programme.
Alison Seaman, Director of the National Society's Godly Play Schools' Project, also offers training sessions for teachers. These have developed from the work of the project and provide an introduction and background to the Godly Play method. Participants experience different types of Godly Play stories, engage in structured feedback on the Godly Play method and explore practical issues for school teachers. Contact Alison Seaman for further details by email: alison.seaman@alibri.co.uk.
If you are interested in becoming an accredited Godly Play teacher, three-day residential courses, led by Rebecca Nye and Peter Privett, are offered at locations around the country. See www.godlyplay.org.uk.
